Chicken vs Beef
A good rib-eye tastes pretty good. No argument there, but the production of beef cattle takes a tremendous toll on our environment:
- Livestock account for 9% of all carbon dioxide emissions, 37% of all methane emissions, and methane has 23 times more global warming potential than carbon dioxide.
- Livestock are responsible for more than 50% of America's erosion and sediment issues, and overal 20% of the Earth's animal biomass
- 30% of the earth's land surface which was once wildlife habitat is now occupied by livestock.
What's for dinner? How about free range chicken!
