The Remodeling Process
Initial Meeting
During our initial meeting, we listen to what you want to accomplish. We will ask you about your lifestyle, and how the changes you are considering will impact your daily life. In some cases, a homeowner may think she needs an addition in order to gain a larger kitchen, but in reality, a reconfiguration of existing footage will accomplish the same result without a higher cost. During this meeting, we will take rough measurements, examine the infrastructure of your home and review any existing plans you may have already obtained from an architect. If you do not have architectural plans, our in-house design team will provide them.
Feasibility Study
The next step is to determine if the project is possible. We study the physical layout, review land plats and surveys. If the project is a "go" we move to concept designs and price planning.
Concept Designs
This phase is the "ball park" pricing and rough layouts. It's purpose is to determine the scope of the project, put general costs to the project in order to establish a budget.
Budget
If you accept the concept designs, we proceed to selecting materials and preparing a firm budget.
Final Drawings
With a budget in place, we execute a design contract and prepare the final drawings, integrating the materials you have selected. The drawings are presented for review, changes made as necessary, corrections to budget if the changes influence the final cost.
Construction Contract
Once the final drawings are accepted, a construction contract is executed, complete with milestones and payment schedule.
Pre-construction
Before construction begins, permits are obtained, materials are ordered, and trade contractors selected (electrical, plumbing, etc.) as needed.
Construction Begins
The site is prepared, demolition or excavation (if applicable) is undertaken, materials are delivered, and work is underway.
During Construction
Communication is the key to a successful remodeling project. We are available to you for all concerns or questions.
Walk-through
Once construction is completed, we "walk-through" the entire project, making note of any detail that needs attention. This list is attended to immediately. The project is considered completed once this final list is to your satisfaction.
Warranty Begins
Our comprehensive warranty period begins. Should any issue arise, give us a call and we'll honor our warranty commitment.
